Miami International Art Fair upon the Seafair Yacht
Happy Rose Sundays Darlings:
This Thrifty Debutante is slowly recovering on this sunny afternoon in South Florida.
I traveled south to Miami for the MIAF upon the Seafair Yacht. The horrid weather finally cleard up allowing us to set sail at 10:30pm for a beautiful cruise around the Bay of Miami.
The Yacht was docked next to the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. I arrived early enough to grab a nice glass of Pinot Grigio and cheese plate at Toro Toro. The hotel was a buzz with lots of activity! I tend to forget how alive Miami is at all times of the year. E
After finishing my snack I boarded the amazing Seafair Yacht again. This mega-yacht is 229 feet long and is a floating art gallery. I was able to peruse the available art and view a Pablo Picasso painting on sales for a mere $9.5 million...oh one day...one day...
At 10:30pm the guests said Bon Voyage to the dock and away we went! The weather cleared up and the view of the city skyline was breathtaking! The most amazing views of Brickell Key, the Mandarin Oriental hotel and other luxury high rises. One does become spoiled after cruising around in a mega-yacht. Sadly once the clock stuck midnight like Cinderella the Seafair returned to her dock for the evening.
But of course this is Miami...no bedtime yet! My friends and I ventured to Dolores But You cCan Call me Lolita for a night cap and people watching. This is one of my fav downtown restaurants. The decor is amazing, great food and tasty cocktails. (if you can make it on a Wednesday its half off bottles of wine!). I enjoyed my final glass of wine this evening on their plush rooftop once again viewing the twinkling Miami skyline.
I laid my head to rest at 2:17am in the morning and drifted off into a nice blissful sleep.
Cheers!
